Bird watching in the Marlborough Sounds

The Pelorus Sound has a great variety of bird life.

From the boat on most days you will see  gannets, sooty shearwaters, several spec. of cormorant (shags), white face herons, blue penguins, gulls, terns, oystercatchers and others.

On any of our trips you will see most of the birds named above.

Book a special bird watching boat tour and Chris will take you too bird colonies in the Pelorus Sound:  shags,   gannets,  and  king shags.

Stop for a walk through native bush to see native birds like; weka, tui, bellbird, morepork, fantail, robin, nz wood pigeon, and others.
The native bush birds are returning to the sounds as more bach owners control the pests.
